One of the Nielsen’s heuristics is “Help users recognize, diagnose, and recover from errors”. This Viber error message breaks it big time. Their teams did not respond on numerous requests over 3 weeks. And apparently I’m not the only one with the same issue. User [deleted] on Reddit wrote:
i have the same issue and Viber support is useless, it has been over 2 weeks now and every support ticket is a pointless “reinstall the app” message and they don’t reply after.
I tried to re-install Viber several times on my fresh Windows 11 setup with the latest version of Viber for Windows 21.3.1. Each time I removed the Viber folder from the Username/AppData/Roaming. I deactivated my macOS Viber too see if that was the cause only to end up with the same problem. Now I cold not activate Viber on 2 computers. And Viber on my phone was the latest version as well.
I finally managed to get it working.
- Installed Viber version 18.7.0.
- Activation did go though.
- Updated Viber to latest version.
No idea why this worked. Random.
