{"id":370,"date":"2015-10-18T17:12:55","date_gmt":"2015-10-18T17:12:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pim.famnit.upr.si\/wp\/?p=370"},"modified":"2021-11-17T11:16:55","modified_gmt":"2021-11-17T11:16:55","slug":"solu-a-new-computer-that-does-away-with-the-folders-hierarchy-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pim.famnit.upr.si\/wp\/?p=370","title":{"rendered":"Solu &#8211; a new computer that does away with the folders&#8217; hierarchy system"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Solu is a little computer that aims to fix all what PCs have been doing wrong all these years (e.g. files, folders, mice &#8230;) based on the CEO behind this new gadget.<\/p>\n<p>A long story short:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>there is currently a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/676993694\/solu-a-new-breed-of-computing\">Kickstarter<\/a> campaign going on,<\/li>\n<li>it will come out in 2016 for 349\u20ac,&nbsp; and<\/li>\n<li>it will be subscription based (no software to install, no storage to buy &#8230;)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#8217;s a nice concept very similar to my <a href=\"http:\/\/pim.famnit.upr.si\/tic\/\">Task Information Collections<\/a> (TIC) with clusters of related information together. These clusters are project based (like TIC) and based on the video it features a zoomable interface. I wonder how it scales up with thousands of files. And a question remains if we are willing to give up hierarchies and PCs for this?
