Frey, Christinger Tomer, Susan Alman<\/em><\/div>\n<h4>Abstract<\/h4>\n<div><em>The literature suggests that personal information management is a<br \/>\n serious challenge for many computer users.  Online faculty are<br \/>\nespecially challenged because of the large number of electronic files<br \/>\nnecessitated by teaching online. Those who have experience in this<br \/>\nenvironment may offer valuable insights regarding information management<br \/>\n challenges and practices. Faculty who teach online courses as part of<br \/>\nthe WISE (Web-based Information Science Education) Consortium responded<br \/>\nto a survey that questioned the ways they manage email, computer<br \/>\ndesktop, Web-based information and learning management systems.  The<br \/>\nauthors concluded that \u201cfilter failure\u201d rather than information overload<br \/>\n is the key issue in information management.
