{"id":301,"date":"2013-07-14T09:36:00","date_gmt":"2013-07-14T09:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pim.famnit.upr.si\/wp\/?p=301"},"modified":"2021-11-17T11:18:32","modified_gmt":"2021-11-17T11:18:32","slug":"how-to-select-only-full-cells-in-a-column-libreoffice-openoffice-calc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pim.famnit.upr.si\/wp\/?p=301","title":{"rendered":"How to select only full cells in a column &#8211; Libreoffice \/ Openoffice Calc"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Imagine having a column in a spread sheet with many lines in which not every line is full; but we want to select only the ones that are full.<\/strong> I&#8217;m doing this with a &quot;Find&quot; dialogue box and when wondering if there exists a simpler solution I only came across <a href=\"http:\/\/ask.libreoffice.org\/en\/question\/1029\/select-only-full-cells-on-a-column\/\">more complicated ones<\/a> :\/. <\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s is how I do it:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select the data set in the row with empty and not empty cells.<\/li>\n<li>Open Find &amp; Replace dialogue box (Edit -&gt; Find &amp; Replace from the menu).<\/li>\n<li>In the &quot;Search for&quot; field write this regular expression: .*<\/li>\n<li>Click on &quot;More options&quot; and check &quot;Regular expressions&quot; and &quot;Current selection only&quot;.<\/li>\n<li>Click on &quot;Find All&quot;<\/li>\n<li>Copy and Paste wherever wanted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pim.famnit.upr.si\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/libre_cacl_selectnonempty.png\" class=\"no_float\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hope this is clear enough.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say that with regular expressions it is possible to select various things:<br \/>\n <br \/>&#8211; Cells containing letters only: [A-z]*<br \/>\n <br \/>&#8211; Cells containing numbers only: [0-9]*<br \/>\n <br \/>&#8211; &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>For various examples of regular expression see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.regular-expressions.info\/examples.html\">these examples<\/a>.
