I used Sozi then, but things have changed and there&#8217;s more choice. I now make my presentations in HTML5 and CSS3. <\/p>\n<p>There are <strong>several javascript frameworks that can produce HTML presentations<\/strong> (check cool presentations on their websites):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bartaz.github.com\/impress.js\/\">impress.js<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/lab.hakim.se\/reveal-js\/\">reveal.js<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/dizzy.metafnord.org\/\">dizzy.js<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pepelsbey.github.com\/shower\/en.htm\">shower<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/imakewebthings.com\/deck.js\/\">deck.js<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/paulrouget.com\/dzslides\/\">DZSlides<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/shama.github.com\/jmpress.js\/\">jimpress.js<\/a> (a jQuery enhanced impress.js)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I wont go into details, just open the links and check what they are capable of.<strong> Major drawback of these is that you need to know HTML and CSS<\/strong> to create presentations. And if you need printouts, this can be hard to achieve as well. <strong>The good thing is that a few editors are available<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>dizzy.js comes with an editor<\/li>\n<li><strong>impress.js has two GUI editors<\/strong>:<br \/>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/hsivaram.com\/tech\/2012\/03\/15\/preview-impressionist-a-visual-editor-for-impress-js\/\">Impressionist<\/a><br \/>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/tantaman.github.com\/Strut\/\">Strut<br \/><\/a>One markup editor<br \/>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/bmcmurray.github.com\/hekyll\/\">Hekyll<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Both Impressionist and Strut look very promising for the wider adoption of these type of presentations.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One thing is sure: HTML is plain text and I LOVE plain text. I&#8217;m not a fan of proprietary formats which break my files (in general) with every<br \/>\nmajor version release. This is one of the reasons I WRITE (almost)<br \/>\neverything in TXT and TEX.
