What came as a surprise to me is that <strong>such event can change <\/strong>the long term ranking of <strong>visits on this blog<\/strong> and other related pages. The top pages so far were: <\/p>\n<ul id=\"submenu_Most_popular_on_this_blog\">\n<li class=\"menuitem\"><a title=\"PIM research prototypes\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/pim\/pimtools.html\" class=\"link\" rel=\"noopener\">PIM research prototypes<\/a> (cca 90 visits a week)<\/li>\n<li class=\"menuitem\"><a title=\"PIM Wiki\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/wiki\/\" class=\"link\" rel=\"noopener\">PIM Wiki<\/a> (cca 25 visits a week)<\/li>\n<li class=\"menuitem\"><a title=\"Texmaker and Xetex on OS X\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"index.php?\/archives\/18-Texmaker-and-Xetex-on-OS-X.html\" class=\"link\" rel=\"noopener\">Texmaker and Xetex on OS X<\/a> (cca 10 visits a week)<\/li>\n<li class=\"menuitem\"> Blog&#8217;s first page (cca 20 visits a week)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The rest were current blog posts and search results form the big G. <\/p>\n<p>This trend was going on <strong>for a year and a half now with no disruption<\/strong>. However, <strong>this changed last week and the first place (156 visits!!) took a post about an old Apple&#8217;s vision of a personal assistant (Knowledge Navigator)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"no_float\" src=\"https:\/\/pim.famnit.upr.si\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Jobs_tribute.png\" \/><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;The search terms returned by the big G were:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"no_float\" src=\"https:\/\/pim.famnit.upr.si\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Screenshot2011-10-13at9.53.47PM.png\" width=\"550px\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jobs has also passed away<\/strong> a few days later and has left <a href=\"http:\/\/gawker.com\/5847124\/steve-jobs-is-dead\">a huge legacy of great things<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/gawker.com\/5847344\/what-everyone-is-too-polite-to-say-about-steve-jobs\">some less great ones<\/a> behind him. The thing is that Knowledge Navigator has arguably not have been his vision (he was working for NeXT at that time).
