About me

My name is Matjaž Kljun. I'm currently a PhD student at Lancaster University in the Nort West UK. My areas of interest are HCI, PIM and ICT in Education. My supervisor is prof. Alan Dix.

I'm also a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies (Depatment of Information Sciences and Technologies) at the University of Primorska.

PIM stands for Personal Information Management which studies how people manage their information in the real and digital world(s). It is an interdisciplinary study combining Human Computer Interaction (HCI), cognitive psychology, knowledge management, information retrieval and others. It has attracted several researches who try to understand how people acquire, organize, archive and retrieve their personal information and who try to design new tools to help us manage information in more natural and humane way.

About the blog

I had a blog once which was alive for more than 6 years. But than sadly the hard drive failed in giving out bits and that was the end of the blog as well. I had a backup but it was mighty old and in 4 years I haven't had time (and wish) to put it up again. So there I lost 6 years of personal information!

Here I'm starting it again. This time is (hopefully) backed up! Most of the posts will be private and will concern my studies, research and ideas about PIM. Public posts will include software hints, interesting interfaces and PIM thoughts.

About restrictions on commenting

There are certain words that are not allowed to be entered in the comments on the site. Since my previous blog, spam became more advanced and I don't have time to moderate all the comments and trackbacks. So if anyone wants to write about any imaginable p***s enlarging drug, perverted s*x, mortgage ... please use asterisks or the comment will get rejected automatically. But I'm sure that comments to my blog posts wont ever need to contain these: very good site!, Real good stuff!, Blowjob, blowjob, Viagra, viagra, Zoo sex, Vicodin, vicodin, mortgage, Xanax, xanax, Cheap flights, Mortgage calculator, Percocet, Animal sex, oxycodone, Oxycodone, prozac, Prozac, Phentermine, phentermine (and the list goes on). Also certain home pages are forbidden and among all sex related sites, facebook profiles as a home page are forbiden as well (popular in spam apparently).

And I had to disable direct comments through RSS readers!
